5450 Elsec 765 meter $1,350

This single instrument provides measurement of the four environmental parameters that are of most frequent interest to conservators and museum professionals; ultraviolet light, visible light, relative humidity, and temperature. The Elsec 765 was designed specifically for the museum community. A standard UV meter only reads the absolute amount of UV energy, but in museums, UV has traditionally been measured as the proportion of ultraviolet light to visible light. The Elsec’s ability to measure proportional UV values is useful for checking the efficiency of a particular lamp or window in terms of UV output, as the proportion of UV to visible light does not change with the distance from the light source.

The Elsec 764 meter has been discontinued and has been replaced by the Elsec 765. This new model has all the same features as the 764 but with easy to read OLED display, rechargeable NiMH batteries, metal case, direct USB connection instead of infrared for data download, and larger memory.
